Chess – how is the game useful and what does it develop?

The human brain is no different from our body and is capable of mental training and building “mental muscles”. Chess in this case is a universal simulator, which has no analogues in terms of its effectiveness. A feature of the game is that it acts immediately on two human hemispheres, forcing the use of gray matter to the maximum. Consider the benefits of playing chess in more detail.

Game features
Chess is a game with a centuries-old history, which is distinguished by a complex multi-layer logic and an extraordinary game world that works according to strict laws. However, the advantage of the game is that in most cases these laws can be violated (this is not about the rules of chess), as a result of which the offender gets a victory. Consider the situation: during the game, a participant intentionally sacrifices one, two, or even three pieces. The player’s strategy is well hidden, and the enemy’s alertness is euthanized. At one point, the situation on the chessboard changes dramatically and the first player makes a matte attack. Only a few moves can dramatically change the situation, crushing the enemy. This is the charm and the highest logic of the game.

The game allows you to simultaneously use logical and abstract thinking. The player has to think through the steps in advance, to build presumptive scenarios. During a party, a person simultaneously activates operational and long-term memory. Few activities can cause state data. Extreme load affects mental abilities in the most favorable way.

What chess develops:
Logic – all player moves are interconnected and obey the general plan. The moves can change during the game, as it is necessary to focus on the current state of affairs and the dynamism of the development of the party. Logical thinking in this case develops by itself, without the need to exert effort. The game itself provides the ability to use logical constructions constantly, even after the end of the game;
Analysis – the ability to assess the situation on the game board and based on it to build an action plan. It is impossible to achieve the goals in life without analysis and work on errors;
Memory – the development of memory certainly belongs to the main advantages of chess. The player needs to remember his steps in advance, to calculate many options for the development of events from the enemy, remembering typical positions – all this makes the human brain give all its best;
Concentration – success in chess is impossible without mindfulness. After all, inadvertently moving a figure without cover, it can simply be lost. Even if you do not differ in perseverance – it does not matter, regular classes will help develop this trait. Progress does not come immediately, but from party to party, the possibility of full concentration and attention will open and grow;
Character development – the party’s sole purpose is to defeat the adversary, so a volitional struggle is inevitable. The search for a better solution, the ability to repel a sudden attack, the ability to keep calm at the most critical stages of the party and continue the battle – all this tempers and shapes the character;
Development of determination – any plan for the game has its own goal, which both participants strive for. Chess teaches you to achieve your goals by meeting the enemy’s resistance. Chess allows participants to learn how to find the shortest ways to achieve what they want, without being distracted by options that lead to the side;
Learning improvement – no one likes to lose in the game, so sooner or later a person will turn to additional materials in books or on the Internet. But this is far from all, because the textbooks give a superficial overview and recommendations. A person needs to independently analyze the data obtained and learn how to apply them in various batches. Using recommendations in each unique party;
The development of creative inclinations – a person practicing a game of chess often enough experiences a surge of inspiration. This is a paradoxical phenomenon, because chess is an intellectual game. Despite this, she is able to develop creative skills and innovative thinking;
Systemic thinking – many people do not know how to think in an organized way. Chess accustom a person to discipline, learn to build logical chains of moves, taking into account the circumstances. Chess is also capable of taking players out of bounds, pushing horizons and completing complex combined moves.
